Shawn Acrey, Lead Pastor

Shawn has served as a pastor since 2002 when he started as a student pastor in Nashville, TN. Shortly after, Shawn and his wife Tonya moved to his home state of Texas where Shawn studied and received a Masters degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005. After graduating, their family moved to this area and has served in 2 churches since 2006. Over the years, God began to move their hearts towards families. In late 2016, God made it clear to Shawn and Tonya both that they were to start a church in the Hunter community and have loved the process.
Shawn and Tonya have been married since June 2001 and have 5 children; Emilee, Elijah, Elias, Easton and Elia. Although they are not natives of Franklin, they say they became locals as quickly as possible.
Shawn works during the day as an EMT and in his spare time (which isn't much) Shawn serves as a volunteer for the Warren County Sheriff's office as a Chaplain and with the Franklin Township Fire Department as a Volunteer Fire Fighter. Needless to say, serving the community is a big deal to Shawn!
Shawn's favorite book is "Staying Is The New Going" by Alan Briggs. His favorite hobby is off roading and smoking meats while hanging out on his land with friends! If the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys or Texas Rangers are on TV, you'll find him glued to it with as many friends as can tolerate the cheers!
Shawn's has two favorite verses from Scripture;
"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4
"Therefore dear brothers, stand firm, let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord because you know your labor in the Lord is not done in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:58
